History
A Heritage Of Evolution
We can trace our origins back to the 1880s, when we introduced the Card Index System in the US.
Over time our company and our product range have changed considerably. What hasn't changed, however, is our creative corporate culture. Our engineers have produced a large number of industrial novelties, such as the typewriter, the calculator, and the file cabinet.
Today Kardex Remstar manufactures computer controlled automated storage and retrieval systems for a wide range of applications. We have already successfully installed more than 140,000 systems across the globe – solutions that we adjust to the needs of our customers and the latest market requirements.
Since 1987 Kardex Remstar has been a division of Kardex AG, which is listed on the Zurich Stock Exchange.

| 2009 | Lewistown, PA manufacturing facility is refurbished to manufacture Lektriever Electric Lateral Filing Systems, horizontal carousels and Kompakt Mobile Storage Systems |
