“Alternative Storage Methods Relative to Today’s Accessibility Standards &
Requirements”
Participants in this program will benefit from a comparison of different storage
and retrieval systems. These systems include vertical and lateral cabinets, rotary
files, static shelving, tri-file, mobile aisle and automated vertical carousels.
Each of these systems will be reviewed based on labor needs, compliance with currently
legislated accessibility requirements and space savings. Using the acronym PEP,
each system will be analyzed for (P) productivity-labor savings, (E) ergonomics
and (P) performance-space savings.
Recent modifications to the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines
are incorporated into the program as it pertains to the various storage and retrieval
systems discussed. These modifications are specific to the use of the various storage
systems.

why should you pay attention? This seminar will review the three cornerstones of
sustainable design and construction and what they mean to you. We will then review
various storage mediums and how they can be used in sustainable environments. In
the end you will see the potential profitability for building owners and developers
to build high performance buildings.
